Current update:

Quick note; new website and pics on the way.
Last update:

Slowly but surely POLAR8 is progressing. Fuel fittings are now finished amonfst other things. Planned completion date is still Jan/Feb.
The race carbie has finally been rebuilt and suitably modified. Flow is good at 880cfm :) It's been tested on another tough Torry and all the bugs ironed out. I was waaay pleased with the throttle response of the new carb. It's almost impossible to tell the difference from the injection setup that was on the Agent.
The Nakamichi head unit that ran the original stereo system has gone to a friend and I'm on the lookout for a decent h/u with 4 x 4v pre-outs. If you know of one for sale, please me know, I'm interested!
I still have a few items for sale, most notably a V8 M21 and new VDO Top eliminator 11k rpm tacho. See this thread on the GMH Torana Website forums for details.
Xmas is upon us again. Have a safe and merry XMAS all!
Last but not least: I'd like to thank everyone who visited this site throughout this year. I hope you you visits were worthwhile. Many many thanks to everyone who sent kind words of encouragement after the Agents 'retirement'. It certainly has spurred me on to comeback and build POLAR8 and also the GMH Torana Website. In case you're wondering about the moron who wrote off the Agent, he's now bankrupt for the next seven years. That's the price for being a brain-dead driver.

Woohoo! I've finally secured the number plates POLAR·8.. took long enough
An upgrade to the audio system is being considered. I will be keeping the 3 amps and 2 subbies, both Phoenix Gold, but different speakers (read more) may be added. The Nak head-unit is gone and a new Clarion MP3 h-u will probably replace it.
There's been a few problems with domain address for the GMH Torana Website but these have been resolved. I've bought the domain www,gmh-torana.com which is the site's new address. A redesign of that site is underway.

POLAR8 is still on the go, although fairly slowly at the moment. I almost put it on the the road but I've decided not do so until it's 100% completed. Everything is done now apart from some suspension work, some more work on the rear diff & wheel setup and the audio system needs to to back in but not before a new amp box is built as the last one got crushed in the accident. The rear wheel sits in too far and a bit if thinking is required to get it right Unfortunately I've been a little busy of late with my work as well as getting the GMH Torana Website and Torana Street Machine Club of Victoria websites finished. I've had something else take up my time of late and I've started buying a some items for something totally different (see next post).
Not really related to POLAR8 but fantastic news nonetheless - guess who's gonna be a daddy :)

Another update so soon again? The exterior of Polar8 is just about finished. This week the blackouts around the windows have been were finished, and the fuel system finalised and installed. More pics added to the gallery.

Progress on the new Torana project, "Polar8", is going well. The paint has finally gone on. The blackouts have been done but I haven't got pics yet. The interior will be going in next., hopefully over the next two weeks.
I've still got some goodies for sale, particularly the AirSensors V8 fuel injection system. It's complete needs nothing else - AirSensors McGee 4bbl throttle body, high flow injectors, AirSensors airflow meter, adjustable ECU, high flow/high pressure fuel filter, EFI pump. All in perfect working order. $550.
Return visitors will have noticed the changes to the site. Hope you like it. I've been promising updates for a while but I have an excuse :) My web time's been taken up building the new GMH Torana Website forum. I've got the new gallery up. The images for the Agent are still available via the link section on the left and the Pictures & Multimedia link above.

Yes, finally I've got some pics up. Progress is going well as you will hopefully see.
The Agent's engine has been given a 100% OK. There was some small doubt about it's health after my foot got stuck on the accelerator during the accident. 8500rpm on a fresh V8 for quite some time isn't always a good thing but as expected everything is fine.
We've already dropped the some of the new suspension in the new project.
Deciding on a name hasn't been easy, but it's been narrowed down to ARGENT or POLAR8. let me know what you think.
Since the project is going forward at a rapid pace (at this stage!), expect updates often (Yes I know, I've been slack as of late)
There's a new Torana discussion forum town. Check it out, there always stuff for sale or to buy, as well as plenty of knowledgeable visitor ready to help with any Torana questions you might have. Check it out here. I've also added the link to the links section too.

Well, well, well. strange how how things work out don't they... after the Agent was smashed I was sure I did not want to resurrect the Agent or build another like it but as is turns out, that's likely what's gonna happen. I'd planned to build a LH/LX sedan but in the end I purchased another hatch with the intention to build a better Agent Orange!
I will be selling off bits and pieces from both hatches and will finalise the list once I know the full extent of work needed for the new Agent.
Although the new hatch was bought complete this week, we've already started stripping it. Thought I'd better get some some shots of it before is was stripped completely.

I still haven't quite yet decided on the new project but the list is getting narrowed. doing another Torry is the currently the likely choice, there is however still the possibility of something a fair bit different. how's a mix of Chev, Datsun & Ford sound? I'll say no more (for the moment).
I'm selling off parts of the agent, some items have gone like the interior and doors. Others are currently interested in the wheels, audio system & injection system. Please send me an e-mail if your interested in something.

Well it's official, Shannons and I both agree, the Agent is dead. to get the agent back to the state it was, it needs many, many hours on a laser jig and an engineer to supervise the chassis de-stressing stage. As well I don't want to spend another few years looking for perfect panels so I've decided not to try and resurrect it. A close friend has offered his workshop and I'll be deconstructing the Agent over the next few months.
There's a new project in the wind but it probably won't be another SS although it will be a Torry.
I'll be selling off parts of the agent, such as the interior, wheels, audio system, injection system, perfect doors, rubbers, etc, but not the driveline. Send me an e-mail if your interested in something. I will add a for sale link soon.

Still waiting on whether the insurance company is prepared to fix the car.... the body builder and painter drew up his official quote - besides the many items listed it ends with the line: "...not financially viable" :(
Came back soon guys hopefully. Even if the Agent is written off I have plans for a new project. Still a Torry and using the Agent's 400hp Auscar heart.
Ance again, i'd like to deeply thank the many, many well wishes I've received via e-mail, in the guest book and various forums (especially folks on the GMH Torana Website forum, MelbCCR forum and Fullboost forum)

Sometimes it just doesn't matter how much time, sweat, love and effort you pour into your pride and joy. All it takes one incapable idiot on the road to tale it away all from you. I learnt this sad lesson last Sunday on the Todd Wilkes memorial. See what this little prick did here.
At this stage I don't know where I want to go with the Agent. The damage is being assessed at the moment.
Many thanks to all the well wishes, sympathy messages and encouragement. I had no idea so many people thought so highly of the Agent.
