the agent was out on weekend release. the braking system is fixed and works wonderfully. i'm still working on getting the front/rear balance right though.
i've added a 'multimedia' page, obviously with vid's and sound :) i'll adding some more pics soon too.
the suspension still needs work as does the fuel system which is being redesigned so the agent is off the road again for a few weeks (perhaps two months).
other updates:
today [25th feb] has struck us with some extremely sad news. todd wilkes (aka judge) died following a horrific accident at eastern creek raceway. a full story can be found at news.com.au and the brisbane channel 9 report can be found here (warning 15mb). although i only met todd a few times it was immediately obvious he had a 'larger-than-life' personality which earned him respect, let alone the respect he earned for his big accomplishments. evidence of this is the massive amount of tribute todd is receiving from the entire motorsport community. tracey, my deepest sympathy and condolences to you as well as to todd's family. long live the judge legend. RIP todd.
woohoo!, the agent is on the road (but not yet finished). we decided to get the agent on the road just for a weekend just for some fun. had major drama's getting registration - the fact that i lost some of the compliance plates didn't help. the agent's new plates are AGENT·O, surprise surprise!. i gotta admit how surprised by the vic roads peeps who were very obliging and helped expedite my registration. the agent's now been issued with new engine and chassis id numbers, deeply stamped in several places. i prefer it that way, it's now harder than ever to to get away with a ripoff should some idiot wanna try.
i guess now would be a good time to mention that the agent has a top'o'the'line alarm fitted, with an extra immobiliser as well (not mentioning brands). it has all black wiring, two battery backups, two sirens, two shock sensors and four immobilisation points (yes four) . i had it professionally installed so it's all well hidden. let's not forget too that there's a car brace dyna-bolted to the floor at the place of storage. it may be overkill but hey, it's mah pride and joy :) </paranoia>
i've added two pics in the gallery. i've had some requests for some wav's and avi's which i'll be doing shortly. the agent sure does sounds sweet and angry if you know what i mean.
what's not so woohoo is the fact that i broke her already :( not to worry, nothing major. the agent is back at archie robertson getting finished. a full rewire is in order as well as some work to the braking system. aah the braking system; it wasn't fun experiencing booster failure mid-corner but you get that! i had to feed in some power so i could oversteer and swing the car around. mighta been hairy but it was fun too. the double diaphragm booster is getting rebuilt. other work yet to do includes: tail shaft loops (fr & r), more suspension work, etc. this should take no more than a month or two.
recently got an e-mail from another torry owner who's put together a fantastic website detailing the build-up. i highly recommend you check out "ThE DeNMaSteR's" wesite here.
magazine shoot - quite some time ago, rob warden, associate editor of "Performance Buildups" magazine, got in contact with me after spotting the car at croydon detail paintworks. well last saturday rob came round and took photo's for the first of two features on agent orange. the first article is about the buildup of agent orange, this will be published in the march edition. the second article, yet to be photgraphed is due er later.
looks like "Performance Buildups" could be doing a nice big feature on the torana club of vic too. come join the torana club - besides getting to meet people with the same passion on torana's, participating in all sorts of motorsport events and shows, you'll get your car in a magazine feature too! here is their website.
unfortunately diff pinion angle has been found to be wrong so archie robertson, not transdiff who built it, is currently fixing this. whilst it's being fixed the upper and lower trail arms are being boxed for added rigidity and strength.
troy at the holden torana website has rehashed his website and created a new message board. check out his site and maybe even participate in the forums.
